DayZ RCon Port and BEServer_x64.cfg (Safe Defaults)

Set RConPassword/RConPort correctly, keep RCon off the public internet when possible, and test from CFTools.

Safe defaults

  1. Set a long random RConPassword in BEServer_x64.cfg (name may vary by build).
  2. Align RConPort with the panel allocation if dedicated.
  3. Prefer restricting source IPs when your tooling allows.
  4. Test via CFTools, then avoid casual public exposure.

RCon is powerful — treat it like root for your DayZ box.

Frequently Asked Questions

Often near game+3 (e.g. 2305) — VERIFY against your BattlEye cfg and panel.

Empty password?

Never. Use a long random password.

CFTools needs it?

Yes for remote admin features — still keep secrets tight.
