Troubleshooting

DayZ Server Not Showing in Launcher

Fix missing DayZ servers: query port, BattlEye, filters, version mismatch, and Chapter22 managed endpoints.

This expands the legacy thin visibility page with an operator checklist.

Checklist

  1. Server running in Pterodactyl; console past init.
  2. Game version matches the client branch.
  3. steamQueryPort reachable (see Ports Explained).
  4. BattlEye ports aligned and open.
  5. Launcher filters (first person, mods, region) not hiding you.
  6. Name spam/keywords not colliding with filters.
  7. Fallback: direct join with IP:gameport for admins.

Managed vs DIY

Chapter22 DayZ hosting already publishes required ports — start with cfg/query/version before blaming firewalls. DIY readers still need Linux port rules.

Frequently Asked Questions

Direct connect works but list fails?

Focus on steamQueryPort and BattlEye reachability.

Managed hosting still invisible?

Confirm panel online, correct name/filters, version match, and query port alignment.

DZSA vs official?

Try both; filters differ.

If you are stuck after following this guide, open a ticket from the Chapter22 client area with the exact error, the port or DNS change you made, and whether the service listens locally (ss / Resource Monitor) but fails externally.

Chapter22 DayZ hosting

Deploy a managed DayZ server.

Deploy on Chapter22 DayZ hosting when you want a managed Pterodactyl panel instead of babysitting a full VPS.
