The following provisions replace the corresponding sections of Chapter22 Hosting Acceptable Use Policy v1.0.
Adult Content
Lawful adult content may be permitted or prohibited at the sole operational discretion of Chapter22 Hosting management.
Customers intending to operate a Service primarily involving adult content may be required to obtain prior approval.
Approval may depend upon:
- Applicable law;
- Datacenter or upstream-provider policies;
- Payment-provider restrictions;
- Service type;
- Geographic location;
- Network or abuse risk; and
- Other operational considerations.
Chapter22 Hosting may deny, condition, or revoke permission for adult-content hosting when reasonably necessary.
Under no circumstances does this provision permit child sexual abuse material, sexual exploitation of minors, nonconsensual intimate material, or otherwise unlawful content.
VPNs, Proxies, Tor, and Traffic Relay Services
Private or public VPNs, proxies, Tor nodes, anonymization systems, and traffic-relay services may be permitted only at the discretion of Chapter22 Hosting management.
Chapter22 may require prior approval before such services are operated.
Management may consider factors including:
- Expected traffic;
- Abuse history;
- IP reputation;
- Customer history;
- Datacenter requirements;
- Law-enforcement or abuse risk;
- Purpose of the Service; and
- Network capacity.
Approval may be denied or revoked at any time where the Service creates unreasonable legal, security, abuse, or network risk.
Customers remain responsible for activity originating from infrastructure under their control.
Game Cheats, Exploits, and Similar Software
Hosting, development, testing, distribution, or operation of game cheats, exploit tools, automation tools, anti-cheat research, or similar software is subject to Chapter22 Hosting management approval.
Chapter22 may permit legitimate development, research, testing, accessibility tools, server administration tools, or other uses where management determines that the activity does not create unreasonable legal, security, publisher, or infrastructure risk.
Chapter22 may prohibit or terminate Services involving:
- Commercial cheat distribution;
- Credential theft;
- Malware;
- Unauthorized access;
- Attacks against game infrastructure;
- Circumvention involving unlawful intrusion;
- Payment fraud;
- Significant publisher complaints; or
- Activity otherwise prohibited by the Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy.
Management approval does not authorize conduct that is illegal or otherwise prohibited by this Policy.
General Management Approval Standard
Where this Policy states that an activity requires management approval, approval is not automatic and may be subject to additional restrictions.
Chapter22 Hosting management may:
- Approve the activity;
- Deny the activity;
- Approve it with conditions;
- Require migration to another product or infrastructure;
- Establish technical restrictions;
- Require additional verification;
- Withdraw approval if circumstances materially change; or
- Require the Customer to discontinue the activity.
Management decisions may consider legal requirements, security, network stability, upstream-provider rules, abuse risk, business risk, Customer history, technical feasibility, and the interests of Chapter22 Hosting and its Customers.
No management approval permits illegal activity or overrides another mandatory prohibition contained in the Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy.
