Palworld Ports Explained (8211 UDP, Query, REST API)

Open the right Palworld ports: 8211/UDP game, optional Steam query, and why REST API 8212/TCP should stay private.

Palworld dedicated servers listen on a game UDP port (wiki default 8211). Chapter22's SteamCMD egg maps that to your primary Pterodactyl allocation. Treat REST/admin ports as private.

Port table

ServicePortProtocolPublic?
Game / public lobbyPrimary allocation (wiki default 8211)UDPYes — players
Steam community queryOften cited as 27015/UDPUDPOptional — not bound by egg 32
REST API8212 (typical)TCPNo — private
Legacy RCONEgg default 25575 (RCON_PORT)TCPNo — prefer panel console

Managed hosting (Chapter22)

  1. Open panel.chapter22hosting.com and select the Palworld server.
  2. Copy the primary allocation (IP:port) — the egg passes it as -port and -publicport.
  3. Share that address for Direct Connect / friends.
  4. Leave REST API and RCON off the public internet.

Node allocations may remap away from 8211. Always copy from Pterodactyl. Warning: Egg 32 does not define a Steam query 27015 variable — Community list relies on -publiclobby, not a separate query bind.

DIY / self-hosted readers

If you self-host elsewhere:

  1. Allow 8211/udp (or your chosen game port) in the OS firewall — see Linux ports.
  2. Mirror the rule in any cloud security group.
  3. Do not publish 8212 or 25575 without allowlists.

Egg verification (Chapter22)

Egg 32 (Palworld): game binds SERVER_PORT for -port and -publicport; RCON_PORT default 25575; no QUERY/27015 env — Community list uses -publiclobby. Node pool currently lacks 8211; always copy panel allocation.

Verify

  • Panel Network tab shows the live allocation.
  • Friend joins with the panel IP:port after the console shows the server is ready.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the default game port?

Official docs default to 8211/UDP. On Chapter22 the egg binds the primary Pterodactyl allocation as both -port and -publicport — copy IP:port from the panel.

Do I need Steam query 27015?

The Chapter22 Palworld egg (id 32) does not expose a separate QUERY/27015 variable. Community visibility uses -publiclobby. Do not assume 27015 is listening unless you added it yourself.

Should REST API 8212 be public?

No. Keep REST/admin interfaces private or allowlisted. Prefer the Pterodactyl console.

Chapter22 Palworld hosting

Deploy a managed Palworld server.

Chapter22 Palworld hosting runs SteamCMD eggs on Pterodactyl in Ogden, UT—Outpost, Colony, and Factory tiers.
