How to Generate server_packages for ATS/ETS2

Use in-game export_server_packages, then upload server_packages.sii/.dat so the dedicated server can start.

Missing or mismatched server_packages is the #1 ATS/ETS2 dedicated friction point.

Steps

  1. On a PC with the same game + DLCs/mods you want on the server, launch the game.
  2. Run the SCS export_server_packages flow (see current SCS dedicated server docs).
  3. Collect server_packages.sii and server_packages.dat.
  4. Stop the Chapter22 dedicated server.
  5. Upload both files into the server directory (overwrite carefully).
  6. Start the server and confirm the console accepts the packages.

Tips

  • Re-export after enabling new DLCs or mods.
  • Keep client and server packages in sync to avoid convoy desync.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is this required?

The dedicated server needs a packages snapshot matching DLCs/mods or it will not sync clients.

How do I export?

From a matching game client use the export_server_packages console/command flow (SCS docs).

Upload where?

Into the dedicated server files via Pterodactyl File Manager / SFTP.

Need help?

If you are stuck after following this guide, open a ticket from the Chapter22 client area with the exact error, the port or DNS change you made, and whether the service listens locally (ss / Resource Monitor) but fails externally.
